About our school
Welcome to the website of the Elementary School and Kindergarten of Veľký Kýr. Our school is equipped not only with gym, dining room and specially equipped classes, but also with a small playground with artificial grass and with two computer classrooms. We encourage smart, talented children, with whom we represent our school on national events.
School news
The aim of our projects is to create a modern centre of education, culture and sport from our school. The priorities of the school include: students learning languages, environmental education (Green School), to introduce ICT in the learning process (Microsoft Academy) and to learn the European culture through national cultures (Comenius).
Founder
The village of Veľký Kýr is situated in the Danubian Lowland, on the both sides of the river Nitra old channel. Village and municipality of Veľký Kýr belongs to the district Nové Zámky in Nitra region. The municipality covers an area of 23 63 ha. Veľký Kýr was first mentioned in The Document of King Koloman in 1113 as Ker. It was mentioned there that he donated the village to Zobor Abbey.
